dayaway is the dreamy indie pop project of Amber Renee, a water sign obsessed with the ocean. Her songs tell a story of love and loss, detailing a heartbreak in summertime snapshots. The project was conceived and written over many afternoons out at Rockaway Beach, NYC and produced with her longtime collaborator and four-time Grammy winner Graham Marsh. Equal parts beachy psychedelia and hazy dream pop, dayaway’s songs are tailor-made for golden afternoons on the water.

The duo’s fourth EP time machine is perhaps the band’s most cohesive effort to date. An even more refined thesis of their signature sound, time machine finds the band retracing their steps to create a body of work that is self-reflective and world expanding. With influences ranging from Dick Dale to The Ronettes to Tame Impala, time machine is a thoughtful, fun, and critical statement on time and our experience in it. Beneath the lush, glimmering soundscapes, these are artfully crafted songs that touch on timeless feelings of longing, nostalgia, regret, loneliness, and bliss.

dayaway’s most recent releases “ghost beach” and “beam me up” both reached #1 on Hype Machine, and songs from the EP saw adds to editorial playlists like Spotify’s Summer Indie, Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds Indie, Apple Music’s New in Pop, New in Alternative, Evergreen and Amazon Music’s Brand New Music. Multiple singles from ghost beach are in regular rotation on non-comm radio stations across the US and abroad. The duo’s self-titled song “dayaway” was also featured in Walmart’s 2024 Back to College ad as well as Cazzie David’s debut film I Love You Forever.

dayaway’s previous EPs, 2022’s self-titled, 2023’s blue summer moon, and 2024’s ghost beach offer various shades of summertime blues, from the electric high of young love to the somber velvet of heartbreak. A handful of dayaway’s songs have gone viral on TikTok, with more than 55,000 videos resulting in almost half a billion views. The band’s songs have also found placements in film, TV, & ads including Netflix’ Hello Goodbye and Everything In Between, ABC’s A Million Little Things, and Apple’s Memories Campaign. dayaway has appeared in myriad editorial playlists on Spotify (New Music Friday, Good Vibes, Modern Psychedelia, Chill Vibes, Indie Chillout), Apple Music (Evergreen, New In Pop, New in Alternative), and Amazon Music (Brand New Music, Fresh Indie).
